Dr. Miller’s teaching philosophy is largely based on his interest in incorporating modern research methods into students’ learning experiences. Similarly, connecting course concepts to contemporary issues increases student interest. He believes students learn more when practical applications are integrated with the information being presented.
Graduate students working in the Geospatial Laboratory for Soil Informatics (GLSI) are encouraged to develop their teaching skills. Creating activities and explaining outcomes from our research improve our understanding as well as draws our attention to potential new areas of research.
