About
Megan Blauwet is pursuing a master’s degree in soil science with Dr. Fernando Miguez and Dr. Marshall McDaniel. Megan’s project involves a lab incubation focused on carbon and nitrogen dynamics after application of solid anaerobic digestate to soil. Her research interests are in nutrient dynamics, soil fertility, and agricultural sustainability. Megan is originally from Larchwood, a town in the northwest corner of Iowa where she grew up on a small farm. Megan came to Iowa State to get her bachelor’s degree in agronomy. She has an interest in research so continued on to get a master’s degree here as well. She plans to graduate in the summer of 2025 and after graduation she would like to go into industry conducting field research on product development. Megan’s hobbies include traveling, hiking, and playing card/board games.
